Grey's frustration part 1

Well now that I am slightly back in the groove of wanting to write let me get back to an issue of grave importance and that is TV in particular my favorite show "Grey's Anatomy". I've been hooked on Grey's pretty much from the start but right now I am beyond a little frustrated. First off I am not pleased with the idea of an Addison spin off. It has nothing to do with Addison as a character in fact I absolutely adore her. What started out as a character that you were supposed to hate because she was Derek's wife who broke his heart but then had the nerve to want him back once he moved on to Meredith was pretty much written in stone that you could never root for her. A funny thing happened mid way in season 2 I started to like her. Addison is a great doctor, smart, funny and beautiful. I would've been ok if she won Derek back but alas it wasn't meant to be so she was back on the market with the McSteamy in hot pursuit. Now back to the present where Addison had all the great flirty chemistry with Alex that I couldn't wait to see acted upon because poof my girl has now been elected for a spin off so no more I'm going strip Alex naked with my eyes if I stare any harder. I think taking Addison away from the core show is a mistake. She has grown way too important to the heart of the show. I was reading on another blog about taking a less central character and spinning them off and I actually think that is a better idea. Callie would make a great candidate because she's still not really liked. George's extended a family of interns has never warmed to her. The closest friend that she has is Addison. Now with the reveal that she is wealthy it creates some interesting back story. Callie's dad was played by the Hector Elizondo and just from his brief appearance I can get that she comes from a very traditional Latin family. When Callie was introduced, she was living in the hospital basement so meeting her dad opens the idea of some possible estrangement with her family due to career choice or perhaps another man that the family didn't approve that left her heartbroken. I'm going to give the Addison spin off chance but a part of me is hoping that it's not picked up so Addison can stay and stare at Alex like he is filet mignon.
